Email received from near and far. September 2011 Good Morning, I am trying to find some information on three old time employees of the Wehrle company. First is a "Pattern Maker" named William Fred Harlow. Second is a "Mold Maker" named Harry T. McCune. Third is another Pattern Maker C.L.V. Kinny. The three would have worked for the company in the very early days. 1898-1920 range. All of these men were from Newark. They were friends that hunted and fished together. Kinny and Harlow made Duck calls and fishing lures, and McCune is believed to have made a mold for part of their duck calls. I am trying to find a historical connection between the three. Any info on these three guys would be helpful to my research. Thank You, Jim Fleming Editor, CCAA News ccaanews@comcast.net June 2011 Dear Mr Vaughn, I read with interest about the Wherle Company in Newark, my home town. My father, Vasiley Bogatin, operated the food facilites at the Wherle Company during WWII. My grandfather, Alexander Traicoff, worked in the factory from its earliest days until about 1945. My uncle, George Traicoff, also worked there after the war. Although it was sad to see it demolished, it needed to go. So much of my family's history is there. Thanks for the memories. Sincerely, Nancy Bogatin Blan jandnblan@verizon.net August 2010 Hi, I am doing a family tree and found that August Wehrle is a relative. Do you have any photo's of him or any other information that would help me further my search? Thanks, Tammy Miller tmiller6684@yahoo.com March 2010 Phil, The lawnmowers are a good addition to the info ... It was North Carolina, not South Carolina .... The only thing I would have is a few samples of drawings, illustration and copies of some of the manuals that I produced. I have that stuff somewhere in a notebook if you are interested in anything like that. The only other info is they also produced the lawn mower lines. I worked on them also after Stew Henyan retired they combined both engineering departments under George Clark. The mower/snow blower division had test facilities in both Iron Mountain, Michigan (snow blowers) and Miami, Florida (lawn mowers). Garry Mclaughlin actor@gbso.net |
